Welcome to our Hoop, Walk and Roll Web Site

On October 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. we will be holding a fund raising event at Van Horne Park in Montgomery, NJ to raise money to fight a genetic disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. SMA, in its worst form, can be deadly. It is particularly troubling because it affects infants and young children.

SMA is the leading genetic cause of death in infants and toddlers. SMA symptoms are similar to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), a loss of motor function.

Even in it's milder forms, SMA sufferers have difficultly with motor function and may need mobility aids.

SMA does not affect sensation or intellectual activity. In fact, people with SMA tend to be exceptionally bright and sociable.

We are asking for your help. Get involved. Please join us on October 15th for our Hoop, Walk and Roll event. Enjoy hula hooping or walking / rolling your way around the park. Enjoy the refreshments and participate in fund raising raffles for prizes.

Support our fundraising event by registering and asking your friends and family to support you by sponsoring your efforts. The registration web site will get you set up and explain how to instruct your sponsors.

If you cannot attend on the 15th, you can still register. Or if you simply want to make a donation to Families of SMA, your support is appreciated.

Thank you for supporting SMA and we look forward to seeing you on October 15th.
